The First Symphony of Alexander Scriabin closes with a paean to art, written by the composer and sung by two soloists and chorus, after five movements featuring the orchestra. The second half is Prokofiev’s bracing cantata Alexander Nevsky, drawn from his score to Sergei Eisenstein’s famous film. The texts for both works may be found below.
