Philippe Herreweghe besluit met zijn Collegium Vocale Gent het 31ste Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht in stijl. Op het programma de feestelijke Mis in G-groot van Johann Sebastian Bach. En daarnaast de Cantates ‘Schauet doch und sehet’ BWV 46 en ‘Mit Fried und Freud ich fahr dahin’ BWV 125, aangevuld met Buxtehudes cantate op dezelfde tekst. Met een sterrencast aan solisten is dit een slotconcert om de vingers bij af te likken.

Depuis quelques saisons déjà, Philippe Herreweghe a quitté Bach pour s’enfuir à la découverte d’horizons plus modernes. Nouveaux répertoires qui lui vont d’ailleurs comme un gand… mais heureusement, pour le plus grand bonheur de tous les amoureux du baroque, il ne néglige pas ses origines. Ce soir, à l’affiche le grand compositeur de cantates ainsi que Christoph Graupner, très célèbre de son vivant, dont le nom n’est souvent cité dans les histoires de la musique qu’en souvenir de sa candidature sans lendemain au poste de Kantor de Leipzig qui devait échoir à… Bach.
