Soaring themes and long musical lines feature prominently in the two works leading our program this week. The distinguished pianist Mitsuko Uchida lends her great elegance to Schumann’s only piano concerto, and music director Riccardo Muti leads Schubert’s final symphony. We bring back a 2012 concert of Schubert’s bubbly Third Symphony, and have an extended interview with Uchida about the piano concerto.
