Panovnik, You are amazing! All of these wonderful recordings, and they ARE wonderful. This video is especially interesting because of the Shostakovich piece which I do not think is among Shostakovich's best works, but Temirkanov finds the perfect approach to this music turning it into a piece that explores a range of emotions. And the orchestra is just superb! I simply adore the St Petersburg string sections!!

As a thank you, here is a recording of Temirkanov conducting the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Sibelius's Violin Concerto with Joshua Bell in Symphony Hall live 7 January 1994.

    Enjoy!
