Moses Y. Halfin (July 29 (August 11), 1907, Poltava - 1990, Leningrad) - a Soviet pianist, professor of St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov. His wife, Distinguished Teacher of the RSFSR, an outstanding teacher specials. muses. School at the Leningrad Conservatory, Leah Ilyinichna Zelihman.
Student, and then assistant professor of the famous St. Petersburg Conservatory SI Savshinskogo.
Winner of first prize at the All-Ukrainian Piano Competition (1930), second prize winner of All-Union Competition of Musicians performers in 1933, at which the first prize was awarded to Emil Gilels G..
In 1940 he became a lecturer at the Leningrad Conservatory, and since 1947 - professor.
Was an active concert schedule. He has performed as a soloist, ensemblist, as well as a symphony orchestra.
Performed in ensemble with musicians such as Professor Julius Eidlin Hitch, Professor Michael G. Simkin, Professor Emmanuel G. Fishman, associate professor at the Leningrad Conservatory, Alexander Fisher.
For many years, was the first performer of many works by composers of Leningrad.
He was awarded the Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
He was awarded the Medal for the Defense of Leningrad and the Medal for Valiant Labor.

Grigory Sokolov - pianist, People's Artist of the RSFSR, winner of first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. Tchaikovsky, a professor of St. Petersburg Conservatory.

Viktor S. Lieberman (January 10, 1931, Leningrad - July 17, 1999) - Russian-Dutch violinist.
He studied in Leningrad, including a Benjamin Sher. In 1958 the first International Competition Tchaikovsky was awarded the fifth prize. For many years, was concertmaster of the first violins in the symphony orchestra of the Leningrad Philharmonic, Yevgeny Mravinsky headed. According to the memoirs of a violinist J. Milkis, "an impressive example for young pianists could be that exceptional rigor with which he was concerned about the unity of the strokes, the identity of manners of sound and vibrato, phrasing, ensemble precision, etc." [1] He played with it team and as a soloist: the reminiscences of the widow of Mravinsky AM Vavilina-Mravinsky, an outstanding conductor believed that the performance of the Passacaglia Lieberman, the First Violin Concerto of Dmitri Shostakovich is the best ever played [2]. Leonid Gakkel recalls, "during the performance of Berg's Violin Concerto in the Great Hall of the Philharmonic lights went out: Lieberman for 15 - 20 minutes playing with inspiration from the stage solo violin music by Bach, until the light came on again" [3]. Among the recordings made by Lieberman in the USSR - Sonata № 6 for violin and piano by Ludwig van Beethoven (with Felicia Fondaminsky) and the Sinfonia Concertante for violin, viola and orchestra by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (with violist Yuri Kramarovym and Leningrad Chamber Orchestra conducted by Edward Serov) .
In 1979 he emigrated to the Netherlands. Was concertmaster of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam associate professor and professor at the Utrecht Conservatory. At the final stage of his career in 1997-1999. head of the North Netherlands Orchestra.
