ReplyDeleteI have just listened to the Sinfonia concertante, and it is surprising good. The tempo keeps moving. It is a more joyous piece of music then the violin concertos (in my opinion).
ReplyDeleteThe only wish is a better sound. Actually the sound balance is pretty good, considered it is a live concert capture.
Unfortunately most of us have an "operatic" relationship with Vittorio Gui, which is very sad! He was amongst the greatest conductors alive during his time.
ReplyDeleteI am truly glad that Panovnik has taken the time to dwell on Gui as a conductor in his own right! And a MILLION THANKS to Angelo for providing the material. Any time, Angelo! There's quite a few followers.... But there should be more....
I have just finished downloading the Vedernikov, with the most AMAZING Hammerklavier that I have heard in my life, so this will be a welcome change! However, Vedernikov has left me hungering for yet more!!!!!!!
Thank you, dear Panovnik, for this space and the great music you share with us!
Always happy dear guest!
