NIELSEN, Vladimir Vladimirovich (1910-1998). Born in St. Petersburg. He graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory (1929). The student N.Golubovskoy. From 19 years old soloist of the Leningrad Philharmonic. Winner of I All-Union Piano Competition (1938). Professor and consultant Conservatory. He has toured in Poland, Germany, Czechoslovakia, France, the United States. Has trained more than 200 students (S.Slonimsky, V.Vishnevsky, K.Kord, S.Skrynchenko, I.Komarov, etc.). Recorded a disc of works by Mozart and Schubert (1970).
